Counseling Services
Hope for the Hurting Home offers crisis marriage counseling (not all of the marriages we see are critical).
The counseling is founded on the principles contained in Dr. Kenworthy’s book Before the Last Resort. Although the counseling is Biblically based, counselors incorporate various sound psychological principles and tools in their sessions.
In the counseling, couples learn more about each other’s temperaments, as well as numerous tools regarding communication and conflict etc. Throughout the counseling, we continuously pray (in and out of session) that the Lord will do a mighty work in them and their marriage.
Couples being seen by Hope for the Hurting Home work with two counselors (at the same time). The counselors work in pairs (male and female) so that both male and female perspectives are considered. One will be the primary counselor and the other will be a co-counselor.
Some counseling is offered in person and some is done through video conference calls over Skype, depending on location, convenience and/or which team of counselors is available.
If you and your spouse are interested in pursuing counseling with us, you will need to fill out our intake forms (available below for each of you) and return them to us. We can then determine whether our counseling program would be a good fit for you and when a team of counselors might be available to begin working with you.
